Gym opening today!

We’ve made it!! We are excited to get you back into the gym and some normalcy going! If you have not read the post about all the new changes please do so before coming to class. This will make things run a little more smoothly for our staff who are also adjusting to everything. We look forward to seeing you!

Martial Arts Classes re opening May 11th. Some restrictions will apply!

We will begin resuming classes starting Monday evening May 11. Please be patient as we check you in and if you notice a large back up by the door just wait a few moments in your car or outside as we shuffle people through to the gym.

If you have been in contact with anybody who is showing flu or coughing symptoms please DO NOT show up. If you are not feeling well please DO NOT show up. If you are not willing to take precautions to keep our gym safe and clean please DO NOT show up.

Staff will take your temperature before all classes. If it is too high you will be asked to leave.

Please wash your hands before and after training and make sure your clothing and training gear including boxing hand wraps, Jiu Jitsu Gi’s and rash guards are clean. If a coach feels that you are not following the standard you will be asked to leave.

There will be no more “communal” gym gear. If you wish you can make an appointment to go through the tubs of gloves and shinguards and purchase a set of that gear. A pair of Gloves and Shinguards are $10 each. After you purchase it clean it and make it yours. Any gear left after any class will be disposed of in the Dumpster outside the gym…NO EXCEPTIONS!

All Jiu Jitsu students must purchase their own can of the “Defense Soap Barrier Foam”.
If you are doing Jiu Jitsu please supplement hand washing with use of the “defense soap barrier foam” on all areas of exposed skin such as neck feet and arms.

All boxing and Muay Thai classes will practice safe social distancing so to that end, there will be no sparring or hard mitt rounds between students. All Bag work will be allowed.

There will be nobody training barefoot in the gym with the exception of the mat room.

All Jiu Jitsu students will work on drills and technique with no live “rolling” until the Pandemic has passed.

Depending on the class size, the coach may split you up into groups in separate areas of the gym for class to operate safely.

The staff will do our upmost to provide a clean environment before every class but we need YOU the student to do your part too. We will provide wooden crates with cleaning supplies throughout the gym. Become familiar with the products so you know what to use on what equipment.
After you have used something clean it before somebody else uses it.

Disinfectant spray cans: For use on gloves, shinguards, handles, hand weights.

Blue disinfectant cleaner: Used with paper towels to wipe down surfaces such as Cardio equipment, weight benches, pads, medicine balls, stability balls, mitts, heavy bags, Bosu balls etc.

Long Dry Mops with swivel head: To sweep off dust and dirt before mopping flat surfaces including mats, wood floors, rubber flooring in strength area and Boxing Ring mat.

Wet Mop Bucket: Dilute a 1 second pour of the Blue “Neutral” Cleaner into a full mop bucket and wet mop all flat floor training areas such as the above mentioned.

We have always maintained a high degree of cleanliness and hygiene here at the gym and some of these protocols were already in place before the pandemic and we appreciate everybody playing their part. This will be the new normal and we expect our students and clients to play their part in this too.
Through a combined team effort we can resume training and as the cases of Covid 19 drop in our state, so will the restrictions on sparring, rolling etc.

Thank you all in advance for your cooperation.
Train Hard Win Easy

Evening classes will be cancelled due to the new State guidelines regarding COVID 19

We have been waiting for direction from the State as to decide if we should cancel group classes and the decision has been made for us. All group classes are cancelled through this week and possibly next but I will make another announcement next week as we learn more. We will continue to do personal training sessions during the day. Thank you for your understanding in all of thisIMG_1212

Our statement on Coronavirus

We have always prided ourselves on having one of the cleanest gyms around. Those that come here see we are always cleaning and wiping equipment down and obviously we have a small enough facility that keeping it clean is easy. We would like to assure you that our staff and the clients are taking the potential widespread outbreak of the COVID-19 /Corona Virus seriously.
According the CDC, below are the most important precautions you can do to avoid person to person spreading of COVID-19:
• Wash hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, if soap and water are not available use a hand sanitizer that contains at least 60 % alcohol
• Cough/sneeze into your elbow or a tissue. Throw the tissue away immediately
• Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands
• Avoid close contact with people that are sick
• Students & Coaches should notify Mick and stay home if they are sick and especially do not come to the gym if you are experiencing a fever (100.4° F [37.8° C] or greater using an oral thermometer).
If you have signs of a fever or a persistent cough, and any other symptoms for at least 24 hours, you should contact a Doctor or Medical facility.
• Students & Coaches who become ill after arrival to the gym should go home immediately.
Obviously we are monitoring the situation daily and we currently have no plans to shut the gym down but we urge our clients and students to be extra vigilant as they train.
We have disinfectant wipes and sprays throughout the gym so be sure to spray your gear down after every training session and let it air dry. Boxers please spray the outside of your gloves and not just the inside. We will be taking the communal gym gear out of circulation during this time so bring or buy your own gloves and shinguards. If you leave any item of clothing or hand wraps here it will be in the trash before the end of the night so don’t expect it back. Spray benches, pads, heavy bags down and let them air dry.
Jiu Jitsu practitioners please wash your hands before and after practice and wear clean uniforms and clothing every time.
Our gym is a beautiful community where we all get better and we are stronger together so please do your part.
Thank you

Omaha, Nebraska – August, 15, 2018 – Mick Doyle’s Kickboxing and Fitness Center has been honored in the inaugural MINDBODY Visionary Awards, given for business excellence in fitness, beauty and wellness industries.

“The MINDBODY Visionary Awards are our way of celebrating the businesses owners we serve, for both their success and for how they translate that into helping their communities live healthier, happier lives,” said Rick Stollmeyer, MINDBODY CEO and co-founder. “Connecting the world to wellness starts in our own backyards, and our honorees deserve to be recognized for their commitment and achievements.”
